40509 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister of Finance: What monitoring mechanism is in place to verify banks are complying with the legal requirement to pass on the benefit of the 80% Crown guarantee under the Gas Transition Loan Guarantee Scheme, and how frequently is this reported to Ministers?

Hon Nicola Willis: The monitoring mechanism is lender reporting to the Treasury. Lenders are required to report monthly during the Availability Period, from 31 July 2026 to 30 June 2029, and quarterly after that period ends. The Treasury provides quarterly updates on the Gas Transition Loan Guarantee Scheme to the Minister of Finance.
