Rt Hon Winston Peters: The exact amount and details cannot be disclosed until port agreements are secured later this year, but of the very little actually built we will be making use of all of it. For example, the departure lounge in Picton was built in 2023 but they planned to demolish it after a few years, and we are saving it. Unfortunately, while $424 million was spent by KiwiRail before the project was cancelled, only some of the works can be reused e.g. the Waitohi Calvert, Dublin Street overpass ground works and Kaiwharawhara knoll.
