40469 (2026). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for ACC: How, if at all, does ACC use engine capacity information when modelling levy settings for motorcycle classes?

Hon Scott Simpson: Corrected reply: I am advised that ACC models expected vehicle exposure by vehicle class, including by engine capacity for motorcycles. ACC uses registration data from NZ Transport Agency which already includes engine capacity. This provides the expected exposure base for each vehicle class, which is then used in the calculation of levies. I refer the Member to the attached table.
