40444 (2025). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Police: Was a 15 year old detained in police cells in Christchurch recently; if so for how many days and hours was he detained for?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that a 15-year-old was detained in the Christchurch Police custody unit for a total of 138 hours. He was received into custody at 5:40pm on 14 August 2025 and released into the care of Oranga Tamariki at 11:51am on 20 August 2025.
