40361 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Customs: In the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies, if any, what percentage of employees who have lost or are set to lose their roles, if any, are located in the Marlborough District, between 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that these decisions are the responsibility of the Comptroller of the New Zealand Customs Service (Customs). However, I am aware that 116 roles at Customs have been disestablished as part of Customs’ organisational change and six additional positions were disestablished through separate restructures in the December 2023 to January 2024 period. I refer the Member to the attached table which provides a breakdown of the number of roles disestablished in each region for the period 27 November 2023 and 10 July 2024.
