40244 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: What have industry stakeholders told him or the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, in any engagements, about the price at which Liquefied Natural Gas would need to be set for industry users to afford it?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that industry stakeholders have not communicated a single price at which Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) would be affordable for industry users. Stakeholders have indicated that affordability would depend on the delivered price relative to alternative fuels and other energy sources, and that affordability varies across industrial users.
