40226 (2026). Mike Davidson to the Minister of Transport: What advice, briefings, reports or correspondence has the Minister had, if any, on the roading maintenance and/or rates impacts of lowering the Financial Assistance Rate for Councils?

Hon Chris Bishop: I have not received any advice, briefings or reports on the impacts that lowering Funding Assistance Rates (FARs) may have on councils' road maintenance programmes or rates. I have, however, received one item of correspondence from a member of the public regarding the potential impact on the maintenance of Cape Palliser Road should that road no longer receive a 100 percent FAR.
