40214 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What data, if any, is collected on the scheduling of pothole repairs relative to peak traffic periods, and how frequently is this data reported to him?
Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) that the Road Assessment and Maintenance Management (RAMM) database’s dispatch data is collected with date and time stamps when a pothole report is entered and then completed by contractors.
However, this can’t be accurately used to account for scheduling. NZTA does not know how long the contractor was on site or whether they logged onto the system to close out the job in a safe place on the network or back at depot.
NZTA has not used this date and time data to report on, nor provided it to me.
