40143 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Which organisations or external experts did the Ministry of Transport consult with, if any, regarding changes to the Clean Car Importer Standard?

Hon Simeon Brown: The Ministry of Transport consulted the Motor Industry Association, the Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association, the Motor Trade Association, the New Zealand Automobile Association (AA), the International Council on Clean Transportation, and the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts. As well, the following government agencies were consulted: New Zealand Transport Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, the Treasury, Ministry for the Environment, New Zealand Customs Service, Ministry of Social Development, Ministry for Disabled People, Ministry for Primary Industries, and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority.
