40106 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How many of the positions that have been offered to graduate nurses by Health New Zealand are full time, as a number and proportion of the total?

Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the Advanced Choice of Employment process for registered nurses mid-year 2025 resulted in 314 graduates being matched to a full-time equivalent position in a Health New Zealand district. This represents 99 per cent of placements as part of our Government's focus on putting patients first and ensuring all New Zealanders have access to timely, quality healthcare.
