40087 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Why did the Asian demographic experience a slip relative to the previous quarter for planned care interventions, as referenced on page 43 of Te Whatu Ora’s Quarterly Performance report January – March 2024?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the narrative for planned care interventions was comparing the published quarter three planned care data with the published quarter two planned care data. Delivery of planned care experiences seasonal variation, as the holiday period in quarter three generally impacts the volumes delivered. The published quarter two numbers were lower than the actual numbers because of missing volume from the Southern Region, and a caveat was included in the quarter two performance report about this. The performance data in the quarterly reports provides a snapshot of a specific time period. Depending on when the data is uploaded and extracted, there may be variances on any given day. When comparing data from the last quarterly report to the current one, you might notice slight variations due to the latter data being more complete.
