40085 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Does the Minister believe Te Whatu Ora’s savings target, as discussed on page 47 of Te Whatu Ora’s Quarter 3 Performance Report, will deliver enough to cover cost pressures within the health system, as well as increase the health workforce?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I expect Health New Zealand will continue to find efficiencies and savings in order to live within its means while still delivering the services New Zealanders need. Health NZ will be required to find efficiencies on an ongoing basis so that it can deliver more services.
