40081 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter to address the analysis ‘Productivity measures are limited to those which can be reliably collected by Service Improvement and Innovation (SI&I), and we have a one-year roadmap in play (SI&I, Finance, H&SS and EY). Our focus is on operating theatres and bed flow management’ as detailed on page 50,51 of Te Whatu Ora’s Quarterly Performance Report (January to March 2024)?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the January to March 2024 quarter, a suite of measures was drafted to more fully reflect drivers of productivity. This includes developing a method for calculating paid FTE and an estimate of uncoded discharges in order to enable reliable reporting of recent activity.
I am further advised that Health New Zealand has developed an internal productivity dashboard which does allow users to drill down any measures to district level or to summarise at entity level.
