40080 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Finance: What modelling, if any, did Treasury undertake to arrive at the Emissions Trading Scheme revenue projection figures outlined in Budget 2024?

Hon Nicola Willis: The forecast for Emissions Trading Scheme revenue reflected in the Treasury 2024 Budget Economic and Fiscal Update are prepared by the Ministry for the Environment, no further modelling was undertaken by the Treasury of these forecasts. The Treasury’s Fiscal Strategy Model contains projections of Emissions Trading Scheme revenue beyond the forecast period (post 2027/28), which is modelled on the assumption of revenue staying constant over the projection period based on the amount of revenue forecast in the last year of the forecast period.
