40078 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter toward the action ‘Clinical supply costs will be informed by engagement with National Clinical Networks to recruit clinicians to champion reduction in variation of practice (collapsing 250,000 supply lines to closer to 60,000 which is best practice). This is a long-term initiative, which will shift the cost curve over the next five years’ as detailed on page 50,51 of Te Whatu Ora’s Quarterly Performance Report (January to March 2024)?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand worked with the Eye Health National Clinical Network and Procurement and Supply Chain Team in respect to opportunities within ophthalmology. Similar engagement is currently being considered with other national clinical networks.
