40072 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter toward the action ‘National outsourced surgical services commissioning (two years)’ as detailed on page 50,51 of Te Whatu Ora’s Quarterly Performance Report (January to March 2024)?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand undertook a strategic market analysis of total activity and investment in the private surgical market. The information gained from that process is being used to inform its outsourcing strategy and implementation in 2024-25 and beyond.
