40023 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Associate Minister of Police: How many of the Youth Aid Officers as committed to in their coalition agreement have been delivered, during June, if any?

Hon Casey Costello: I expect to work further with Police to identify a suitable Youth Aid Officer target that meets their operational needs. I note for the Member that Youth Aid Officer roles come from the wider constabulary pool, with officers undertaking specific requirements to become qualified. Following appointment to the role, it is a two-year training process for a Youth Aid Officer to become qualified.
