40008 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (January to March 2024) to ‘Nationally agree on the scope and distribution of specialist cancer and cancer surgical services’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during this quarter (January to March 2024) national groups established to focus on surgical services have continued their work. I am further advised that the Cancer Control Agency – Te Aho o Te Kahu has continued to work with the sector to complete models of care for these highly complex and low volume surgical services.
