39992 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (January to March 2024) to ‘Increase uptake of advance care plans’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the January to March 2024 quarter, the advance care planning programme continued to train and support district-level train-the-trainers, and to guide implementation managers responsible for introducing advance care planning at district level. I am also advised that Health NZ expects these actions could result in an increase in the uptake of advance care plans, including for cancer treatments.
