39965 (2025). Steve Abel to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What advice, if any, did the Minister receive about the Code of Welfare for Pigs and associated regulations during his meeting with the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC) on 5 March 2025?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: During this meeting there was a wide-ranging discussion on a number of animal welfare issues, including the Code of Welfare for Pigs and associated regulations. Decisions on the revised Code of Welfare for Pigs and associated regulations are under active consideration. I will make announcements when decisions have been confirmed by Cabinet.
