39898 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 on the action ‘Work with colleagues involved with other key non-communicable diseases and population health to design and implement a health promotion programme that is tailored to each ethnic group, delivered in a culturally appropriate way, addresses the unequal social determinants to health and promotes brain health for all people in Aotearoa’ under the objective ‘Reduce the incidence of dementia mate wareware’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Improving Dementia Mate Wareware Services in Aotearoa New Zealand Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that Health New Zealand did continue to progress various work programmes that contribute to reducing the 12 risk factors of dementia. This work covers: •National Public Health Service smoking cessation projects; •Nutrition and Physical Activity projects; •Mental Health and Wellbeing / Nōku te Ao; •Physical Activity projects; •Nutrition and Physical Activity projects; •Mental Health and Wellbeing / Nōku te Ao; and •Alcohol Harm reduction projects
