39868 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What advice, reports, briefings, aide memoires, or any other documents has the Minister or any member of their Office received, if any, during the week beginning 1st July 2024, by title and date, and what were these documents about?
Hon Mark Mitchell: As the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on matters relating to my Emergency Management and Recovery portfolio.
I received the following documents from officials in the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery between 1 July – 5 July 2024:
• East Coast Weather Event: Talking points and draft recommendations for oral item at Cabinet on Monday 1 July 2024, 1 July 2024
• Speech notes for day 3 Exercise Rū Whenua, 2 July 2024
• North Island Weather Events: Progress update on categorisation and buy-outs, sediment and debris, 4 July 2024
• Nelson City Council Crown Funding Agreement, 4 July 2024.
In addition, I received the following briefing from the Department of Internal Affairs: Reprioritisation of funds for Wairoa in Response to the East Coast Severe Weather Events, 4 July
Jointly with the Prime Minister I have received the following document: Prime Minister’s Visit to Wairoa, 5 July 2024.
Furthermore, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from officials in NEMA, CRU, and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet and from other agencies, and from ministers’ offices.
