Written Question

39789 (2024). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: How much was spent on maintenance, renewal, and operational-related activities on motorways and expressways between 2021 and 2023 (inclusive), as a per kilometre average, and what was the total length of road that underwent maintenance or renewal in that period?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that the NZTA does not record information in a way that enables it to separate the amount spent on maintenance, renewal and operational-related activities between motorways and expressways. The total spend for motorways and expressways is reflected in my response to Written Question reply 39788. The total length of pavement and surfacing renewals completed on motorways and expressways was 78.14 lane/km in 2020-21, 130.29 lane/km in 2021-22 and 109.40 lane/km in 2022-23.
