39787 (2024). Hon Julie Anne Genter to the Minister of Transport: How much, if anything, was spent on maintenance and operational-related activities for local roads between 2021 and 2023 (inclusive), as a per-kilometre average, and what was the average duration of that work per kilometre?

Hon Simeon Brown: The average spend per lane kilometre on maintenance and operational-related activities for local roads between 2021 and 2023 is provided below: 2020/21: $4,004 2021/22: $4,108 2022/23: $4,627 I am advised by NZTA that costs for 2023/24 period are not yet available as councils still need to complete their claims and annual achievement returns. This will be available at the end of August 2024. NZTA also advises that it does not collect information on the duration of work per kilometre.
