39755 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: What advice, if any, has the Minister received around any changes to the teaching of critical thinking that may occur as a result of the refreshed curriculum?

Hon Erica Stanford: I have received the following written information from the Ministry of Education which refers to critical thinking and updates to the national curriculum, listed below by date and title: • 12 April 2024 - Education Report: Design for the New Zealand Curriculum change programme. • 30 April 2024 - Education Report: Timeline and design for Te Marautanga o Aotearoa rewrite. • 13 May 2024 - Information Update: NZC key competencies and international comparisons Please note some titles have been withheld as they are either sensitive in nature or still under active consideration. It is not in the public interest to release them at this time.
