39752 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: What changes, if any, to the performance measures on curriculum support and professional development are being considered which may enable the Ministry of Education to show how their professional development support enables student outcomes?
Hon Erica Stanford: Corrected reply: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that a strengthened approach to performance monitoring and evaluation for professional learning and development (PLD) services has been developed, and is being implemented for new and renewing agreements.
The approach utilises common value domains and indicators relevant to the specific chain of influence for each PLD service. This requires all PLD suppliers to provide data and analysis showing the achievement of agreement objectives, in terms of both the outcomes for participants and the contribution of these outcomes to improving student progress and achievement.
Suppliers are asked to provide analysis of aggregated student data from sources relevant to the PLD and school setting such as structured literacy assessments, e-asTTle, Progression Achievement Tests (PATs), Te Waharoa Ararau (TWA) and National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA).
