39721 (2024). Hon Phil Twyford to the Associate Minister of Immigration: What is the average wait for Tier 2 from when a Refugee Family Support Category Invitation to Apply (ITA) is made, to when a Residence Visa is issued, for the period 2017-18 to the present?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised for the period 2017-18 to present, the average wait for Tier 2 from when a Refugee Family Support Category Invitation to Apply (ITA) is made is 1280 days. This is based on 262 residence visas approved between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2024. It is noted that Covid impacts affected the processing timeframes, and the time between ITA and lodgement of the residence application is outside of INZ’s control (there is a 12-month window to apply).
