39718 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: Does the Minister agree that reading recovery training is seen internationally around the world as the highest quality teacher training; if not, why not?

Hon Erica Stanford: When Reading Recovery was developed in the 1980s, it used contemporary evidence in literacy instruction. Educational research and best practice evidence have since developed further. We now know that structured literacy is an effective, proven approach to teaching students the basics of reading.
