Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: What role, if any, did the Minister have in the setting of New Zealand Transport Agency normal funding assistance rates for the 2027-30 National Land Transport Programme, and on what dates, if any, was the Minister consulted or informed before the rates were confirmed?

Hon Chris Bishop: None. The NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) Board has the statutory responsibility to set normal funding assistance rates (FARs). NZTA informed me of the Board’s decisions on normal FARs prior to communication to Approved Organisations.
