39707 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Immigration: Will the Minister implement a special support for the people of Gaza such as the special sponsorship scheme, if not, why not?

Hon Erica Stanford: Any decision of this nature is a decision for Cabinet. When I updated Cabinet on 13 May on the immigration approach to visa applications from people ordinarily resident in Gaza, the view of Cabinet was to retain the current settings. I note that all discussions in Cabinet are subject to confidentiality. As such, I am not able to provide any further information on the nature of discussions that have taken place at Cabinet.
