Hon Simon Watts: As Minister of Local Government, I receive a very large amount of correspondence. This correspondence is not categorised by the specific nature of any complaint, eg: unelected members. To answer the member's question, my office would need to review all correspondence received over these six months manually, identify whether a complaint is made about any member of a council committee, and determine whether that member is elected. I do not consider this to be in the public interest.
