39630 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How many individuals on the National Gang List, if any, have been charged with firearm related incidents during June 2024?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Police considers firearms-related offences to be any offences in the Arms Act 1983 or any other offences that specify a firearm was involved (eg, robbery with a firearm). I am advised that 30 individuals have been charged with a firearms-related offence in June 2024, and 50 Individuals have been charged with a firearms-related offence in May 2024, who are current validated patched or prospect gang members on the National Gang List. Please note that gang information is snapshot data, and some of these individuals may not have been gang members at the time of the charge, and conversely, there may have been people who were gang members at the time of the charge but are no longer recorded as gang members. Data in this response is drawn from a dynamic operational database and is subject to change as new information is recorded or updated.
