39607 (2024). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Minister of Education: What ongoing support/resources, if any, is provided to home-schooling families, not including the home education supervision allowance?
Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that a home educating family can make a request through their local Ministry office for support and resources. The request is assessed using the same criteria as for school-based students. For example, a home educated child with learning support needs may be eligible for the Ongoing Resource Scheme (ORS), speech-language therapy, specialist services for children with a moderate physical disability, assistive equipment, some services for deaf and hard of hearing students and blind and low vision students that include assessments, information, teaching and learning strategies. Please note this list is not exhaustive.
