39399 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: When will the secondary school English curriculum be ready for schools to implement?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that final curriculum content for Years 7-10 English will be available in early Term 4, 2025, and required for use from Term 1, 2026. Updated curriculum content for Years 11-13 English will be available in Term 1, 2026 to invite wider feedback and support familiarisation. Once finalised in mid-2026, it will not be required for use until 2028 (Year 11), 2029 (Year 12), and 2030 (Year 13).
