Hon Erica Stanford: 50,276 Year 11 students participated* in NCEA Level 1 in 2022 48,551 Year 12 students participated* in NCEA Level 2 in 2022 38,456 students participated* in NCEA Level 3 in 2022 Students do however attempt NCEAs outside of these patterns, e.g. NCEA Level 2 in Year 13. This data is not collected in a way that can easily identify these students, and these are not captured in the above numbers. * Participation is defined as being entered for: • 80+ credits at Level 1 or above for Level 1; • 60+ credits at Level 2 or above for Level 2; and • 60+ credits at Level 3 or above for Level 3 (including credits achieved in prior years).
