39349 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: Does the Minister plan to sustain and potentially increase public transport funding beyond the 2024-27 National Land Transport Programme period?

Hon Simeon Brown: I refer the Member to my press release where I announced our Government's record investment in public transport services for the indicative 2024-27 National Land Transport Programme (NLTP): https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PA2406/S00114/record-investment-in-public-transport-services.htm Decisions on future NLTP periods will be made in due course, however I note that page 14 of the Government Policy Statement on land transport 2024 outlines my expectation that funding for public transport services will achieve the expected outcomes of less congestion and increased patronage.
