39331 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 on the recommended focus area ‘Increase allocation of funding for education and training of the cancer workforce, including funding for replacement staffing cover and additional roles in cancer care. This includes consideration of the creation of specialist cancer roles in allied health and exploration of extended scope of practice for some roles’ under ‘System-wide solution 4: Workforce’ in the Cancer Control Agency ’Cancer Services Planning’ document?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that this area will be further considered within the cancer services planning work that is under development. For further information regarding planning specific to cancer workforce, I refer the Member to the response to Written Parliamentary Question 39316 (2024).
