Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 on the recommended focus area ‘Develop and implement a future focused approach to the cancer workforce that includes significant growth of nationally consistent advanced and extended practice roles in nursing and allied health’ under ‘System-wide solution 4: Workforce’ in the Cancer Control Agency ’Cancer Services Planning’ document?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, planning was further developed on a cancer transformation programme focussed on specialist services. The Cancer Control Agency – Te Aho o Te Kahu and Health New Zealand will be core partners in this activity, which will include Cancer Service Planning.
