39317 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: Will the role of automated decision-making be included in the review of the wrongly suspended benefits and allowances since the Social Security (Mandatory Reviews) Amendment Act 2025 came into force; if not, why?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development uses automated decision-making as part of the mandatory review process. These processes operate as designed and in accordance with the legislation. The issues addressed in the review are not a result of automated decision-making.
