39304 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Is the Minister considering switching the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine schedule from two doses to one for children in Years 7 and 8?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am aware of significant interest in the prospect of a switching to a single dose HPV vaccine schedule, however I am advised that a single dose HPV schedule is not approved by any international regulatory agency including our own. I have asked for advice on what would be required to make changes to the schedule given laws on who can administer vaccines outside of their approved indication.
