39295 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: How many people placed on remand were not sentenced to further imprisonment in the last year (by number and proportion)?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I am advised your question has been interpreted to be the number and proportion of people convicted and sentenced to imprisonment, but served their sentence in full while remanded in custody from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023. I have been advised the Ministry does not hold information on the number of people who completed their sentence of imprisonment while on remand.
