39255 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: Further to Reply 23976 (2024); Who ascertains if there is immediate danger?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that the majority of family harm reported to Police is initially reported through Police’s service centres that process 111, 105 telephony or 105 online contacts. The initial assessment is therefore often carried out by Police Communicators. Communicators are trained to and are experienced in applying the Police threat assessment methodology (TENR) and consider Priority Criteria. TENR is a decision-making process that supports the timely and accurate assessment of information directly relevant to the safety of Police and others.
