39185 (2025). Steve Abel to the Minister for Food Safety: What advice, if any, has he received on privatising New Zealand’s meat inspection services; listed by title and date?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: To date, I have not received specific advice from the Ministry for Primary Industries on this matter. I received a letter from the Public Services Association on 30 June 2025, which outlined their position on changes to the red meat regulatory inspection and supervision services.
