39181 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does he agree with Te Hiringa Mahara Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission's report Achieving equity of Pacific mental health and wellbeing outcomes (May 2024) that there should be Improved quality and timely Pacific data collection to adequately capture the
diversity of mental health status and wellbeing outcomes within Pacific peoples
to support system performance, if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand has contracts with Pacific providers across the country to deliver Access and Choice mental health services within the community. These services are by Pacific, for Pacific, and provide holistic approaches to wellbeing for Pacific people with mild to moderate distress. In addition to capturing Pacific data regularly from these providers, there are continuous improvement activities underway to inform the wellbeing of Pacific people.
