39167 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: Further to reply 36977, was the contract with Parallaxx procured competitively, and if so, how many training providers tendered or were considered?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that WorkSafe New Zealand engaged Parallaxx directly. The cost of the contract for the support and training of WorkSafe inspectors for the road cone hotline pilot does not cross the value threshold required to gather quotes from additional parties for procurement. I am further advised that Parallaxx was appointed to a WorkSafe Subject Matter Expert panel established in 2024 through an open tender process.
