39119 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Finance: Does the Minister of Finance stand by her statement that construction jobs depend on the pipeline of transport infrastructure funded by fuel taxes, and how many jobs, if any, are estimated to be affected by the Government's own decision to defer revenue?

Hon Nicola Willis: I stand by my statement in the context in which it was made. As Ministers have agreed top up the National Land Transport Fund to account for the reduction in fuel excise revenue, the loss of construction jobs from the decision to cancel next year's fuel excise hike will be zero.
