39097 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress has been made in the last quarter (January to March 2024) to ‘Progressively increase the age of eligibility for breast screening from 70 to 74 years’ under Outcome 4: New Zealanders have better cancer survival, supportive care and end-of-life care, as part of the New Zealand Cancer Action Plan 2019 – 2029?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: On 15 February 2024, I announced the increase of the age of eligibility for breast screening. During the January - March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand advised on the feasibility, indicative costs and approach to increasing the eligible age of breast screening.
