Hon Dr Shane Reti: On 15 February 2024, I announced the increase of the age of eligibility for breast screening. During this period Health New Zealand advised me on the feasibility, indicative costs and approach to increasing the eligible age of breast screening and I worked to secure funding through Budget 24 to enable the age extension to proceed.
