Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 on the action ‘Introduce an amendment Bill to require general retailers selling vaping products to advise the Director-General of Health before selling vaping products’ under ‘Focus Area 5: Reduce the availability of smoked tobacco products’ within the Ministry of Health’s ‘Smokefree Aotearoa 2025 Action Plan’?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that under section 20R of the Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990, general retailers selling vaping products are required to notify the Director-General of Health that they are doing so.
