39026 (2026). Tākuta Ferris to the Minister for Biosecurity: How much has the Ministry for Primary Industries spent in total on doses of the Poulvac Flufend RG vaccine, if any, and how many vaccine doses have been purchased, if any?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: The Poulvac Flufend RG vaccine has only been approved for use in a targeted number of endangered native bird species that are at risk of extinction, as identified by the Department of Conservation (DOC). The vaccine is currently being administered through DOC's vaccination programme. I am advised that the Ministry for Primary Industries has not purchased any doses of the Poulvac Flufend RG vaccine.
